CREAMY PAPRIKA STEAK SHELLS

Ingredients:
For the Steak:
1 pound steak (sirloin, ribeye, or your choice), cut into strips
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
For the Creamy Paprika Sauce:
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the Pasta:
12 oz pasta shells or your preferred pasta
Salt, for the pasta water
Instructions:
Cook the Pasta:
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Steak:
Season the steak strips with salt and pepper.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak strips and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Creamy Paprika Sauce:
In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Stir in the paprika, then add the beef broth, and bring to a simmer. Allow it to cook for a couple of minutes to reduce slightly.
Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Allow the sauce to simmer gently until it thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.
Combine:
Add the cooked steak back into the skillet and stir to coat the steak in the sauce.
Add the cooked pasta shells to the skillet and gently toss everything together until well-coated with the creamy sauce.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your creamy paprika steak shells!
Tips:
You can add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra color and nutrition.
Adjust the seasoning according to your taste, adding more paprika or seasoning as desired.
For a little heat, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
