Strawberry French Toast Roll Ups

INGREDIENTS

  • 4­-6 Slices of Texas Toast or bread (slightly stale or lightly
  • toasted)
  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 T Cold Milk
  • 1 T Honey
  • 1 T Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon & Nutmeg
  • ⅛ tsp Vanilla extract 2 T Butter
  • Filling:
  • 1 pkg Philadelphia Cream Cheese
  • ½ C Sugar
  • 2 C Fresh Chopped Strawberries

 

INSTRUCTIONS

To make the filling, mix all of the ingredients together in a blender or by hand until they are smooth and creamy.
Keep in the fridge until you're ready to use it.

Heat a skillet that doesn't stick over medium-low heat.

To make custard, mix together eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and honey.
MIX WELL!
Set aside.

Put one piece of Texas Toast on a cutting board flat.
Flatten each piece of bread to 12 inch thick with a rolling pin.
should not be too thick.
Spread 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture on half of one side of a piece of bread.
Don't spread everywhere.
Only a half.

Roll up the cream cheese half as shown in the picture. The cream cheese mixture should seal it shut. Do the same with the rest of the bread.
Place the folds down.

Then, put butter in the pan.
Dip each piece in custard, which is a mixture of eggs and milk, and fry it right away until all sides are golden brown, carefully turning it every 1–2 minutes.
In about 4–5 minutes, they should be browned.
Do not overcrowd your skillet.

The roll-ups are done when the tops are browned and crispy.
Add warm maple syrup or honey and sprinkle with powdered sugar, cinnamon, or your favorite topping.
