Southern Fried Catfish

Southern Fried Catfish

Ingredients :

  • Half a cup of milk
  • Half a cup of water
  • Salt / pepper
  • 1 pound catfish fillets, sliced
  • 1 cup fine cornmeal
  • All-purpose flour cup
  • 1 tsp seafood season, ((such as Old Bay™️))
  • 1 L vegetable oil For fry

Directions:

-Mix the milk, water, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
Pour the mixture into a large, flat pan that can hold all of the fillets.

-Spread the fish out in a single layer on the bottom of the pan, turn each side to coat, and set aside to marinate.

-Mix cornmeal, flour, and seafood seasoning in a 2-gallon plastic bag that can be sealed.
Add the fish a few fillets at a time to the mixture and gently stir until it is all covered.

-Heat the oil in the deep fryer to 365°F (185°C).

-Fry the fillets for about 3 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
Don't crowd the fillets so they have room to brown well.
The outside of the fish should be a little crunchy, and the inside should be moist.
Put down some paper towels.

Enjoy !
