Seared Scallops with Spicy Cajun Cream Sauce

Ingredients:

For the Scallops:

1. 1 lb sea scallops, patted dry
2. 1 tablespoon olive oil
3. 1 tablespoon butter
4. Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Spicy Cajun Cream Sauce:

1. 2 tablespoons butter
2. 1 onion, chopped
3. 2 cloves garlic, chopped
4. 1 tablespoon paprika
5. 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
6. 1/2 teaspoon salt
7. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8. 1 cup heavy cream
9. 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

Instructions:

1. Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over high heat.
2. Add the scallops and cook for 2-3 minutes per side.
3. Remove the scallops from the skillet and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, add the butter, onion, and garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.
5. Add the paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute.
6. Add the heavy cream and lemon juice. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
7. Serve the scallops with the Spicy Cajun Cream Sauce.
