Ingredients:
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 6 eggs, separated
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, sift before measuring
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Mix the butter and sugar together, then add the egg yolks one at a time and beat well after each addition.
Blend in vanilla, lemon juice and sour cream.
-Sift the flour, salt, and soda into a separate bowl.
Mix well after adding the dry ingredients that have been sifted.
Beat the egg whites in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form.
Mix the whites of the eggs into the cake batter.
Pour into a tube pan that has been greased and dusted with flour. Bake at 300° for about 1 1/2 hours, or until the cake is done.
