HONEY BAKED HAM

HONEY BAKED HAM

YOU’LL NEED:

  • – Smoked ham: 1/2 (boneless)
  • – Honey: 1 cup
  • – Butter: 1/2 Cup
  • – Brown sugar: 1/2 cup
  • – Extra virgin olive oil: 1 Tbsp

HOW TO MAKE IT:

-To start the recipe, cover the deep tray where the ham will go with aluminum foil.
The trick is that when the honey sticks, it doesn't bother us.

-The sauce is the first step in cooking.
For this part, heat a half cup of butter and a teaspoon of olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
Lastly, use a spatula to stir it until it melts and turns into a liquid. This is the sauce.

-Then, you can stir in about 100 g of brown sugar and 1 cup of honey until everything is well mixed.
It's best to let it warm up slowly while you make the rest of the recipe.

-At this point, make sure the ham is cut into thin strips that don't reach the end.
Let me explain. You need to cut thin slices on the piece so that the sauce and cooking in the oven get everywhere.
(Always keep in mind that it can't lose its shape).
Now, all you have to do is put the ham on the tray you had covered with aluminum foil.

Now comes the part for the more creative people, where you use a brush to paint all the ham with the sauce you made before.
Don't forget to paint any holes.
To reach your goal, you should go over it more than once.
Always put the sauce aside for later.

-Remember that the ham needs more aluminum foil on top of it so that it doesn't burn too much in the oven and comes out perfect.

-Bake right away at just under 200o for about 2 hours.
It's smart to figure out that you should cook each kilogram for 30 minutes.
So, you have to take it out of the oven every 20 or 25 minutes and brush it with honey sauce again.

-In the last 10 minutes of baking, I always turn my oven into a grill to get the top of the ham just right.

Now that the ham is browned, take it out of the oven and put it on a plate with the rest of the honey sauce.
